Laura Correa (Peru,1990)
Laura Correa was born in Peru. She graduated in audiovisual. The artist also has degrees and certificates in cultural studies, transmedia documentary, digital photography, and the direction of photography.
With experience in documentary photography in many countries such as Peru, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Portugal, France, and Spain, Correa has been working as a university teacher of audiovisual production subjects and as a freelance filmmaker since 2013. The artist has been a consultant communicator in several entities and international exhibitions.

"NUDOS"
Correa has been documenting sexual desire starting in 2012: LGTBIQ + communities, BDSM practices, pornographic industry, and within her own intimacy. Since 2018, she has been working on theorizing and creating more complex audiovisual narratives from these images.
Far from idealization or even self-complacency, this work has signified a way of knowing herself in the "other", rebuilding, learning, loving and experiencing way. Taking in consideration that while aesthetic value is very important for Correa, critical value in the images is also essential: forms of representation, power, places of enunciation, etc.
Employing small format canvases that resemble cinematographic frames, the artist recreates her memories through the impression of her breasts and vulva on the surface of the canvas, almost as if she recreated again and again her past sexual encounter.
